I wear glasses and never know what color eye shadow to use ?
Does this sound familiar? Many of us who wear glasses have trouble of some kind with applying eye make-up. It may be the very basic kind of problem, which is that without our glasses we simply can't see well enough in order to have the precision required for using eye make-up properly. Other things we need to consider are the way the color schemes work with the colors of our spectacle frames, tinted lenses etc. we always need to remember that glasses are a very noticeable feature on our face, it need not necessarily be a set back. Once learning to use eye makeup properly we may even enjoy advantages which women with no glasses are denied, that is using our glasses as a fashion accessory which complements the over all look we are trying to achieve, and makeup is also a central part of.
Lets start with the most fundamental problem, the one which if we do not overcome first we can never really go much further, this is of course, finding our own way to overcome the difficulty in not seeing clearly enough.
Putting on eye makeup is a very exact art, we apply many details, combine subtly different shades. There is no doubt that seeing exactly what you are doing can be an advantage. But even completely blind women are known to use eye makeup, so how is this done?
Well there is really no one secret that dissipates all the problems of faulty eye sight regarding using eye makeup. Each will have to find her own blend of solutions to allow her self to confidently use and try out different looks with eye make-up.
If you can use contacts, even just while applying makeup to your eyes this will solve the problem, if not one method to over come the problem is to balance your glasses at the very end of your nose creating enough space to work with.
Of course you can always get a friend, sister, mother etc. to sit with you a minute and help. If you learn by trial and error you will find that with time you can do your eye liner virtually with your eyes closed. Some permanent eye makeup can also help but remember this is forever (like a tattoo) so consider it carefully before deciding.
Another solution may be a large magnifying lenses placed between you and the mirror, much like jewelers use. I have even heard of mirrors that can compensate for the spectacles we have to put aside for a minute.
So, once we have enough eye hand coordination we can start thinking about color schemes, shades of eye shadow, eye liner, smoky eye looks etc.
Those who wear spectacles have all the usual dilemmas about which shades compliment our eye color best, how to apply eye make-up in a way that suits our other facial features, skin tone, which colors will bring out shades in our eyes we want to highlight (like green in brown eyes) etc. But ladies applying eye makeup which will then be framed by glasses have to take this into account as well.
When choosing eye shadow shades with our glasses in mind the most important thing is to match the color of the frame. For dark frames go with light colors and vise versa. It is a good idea not to wear glasses with frames the same color as your eyes.
Remember that glasses' frames cast a shadow under our eyes, to brighten these areas use a good quality light shaded concealor.
There are many great tips and advise on the web for eye make-up when wearing glasses so surf and learn, hope you found the ones brought here useful.
